Tunisia - Irish people booked to travel to Tunisia on Friday July 3 have the following options from the two tour operators that send people there.

1.  Sunway will change your holiday  to another destination with no cancellation charges.  There may be a difference or a refund in price depending on where you choose.

2.  Just Sunshine will allow a full refund for holidays booked for July 3 and for the rest of July will transfer bookings to Sunway destinations.  Monies will be credited to new bookings but there may be a difference in prices.

Regarding insurance for both Tunisia and Greece - disinclination to travel is not a valid reason to cancel your holiday.  There will be no refunds by insurance companies for this reason.

If you do wish to cancel then normal cancellations conditions  will apply.

i.e. within seven days of departure 100% of the cost is forfeited
within 8-21 days of departure 90% is forfeited
within 22-28 days of departure 75% is forfeited
within 29 - 56 days of departure 50% is forfeited.

Marketing Greece issued a statement this afternoon, as follows:
"There are no disruptions in tourist destinations, or in the operation of hotel and tourism-related activities.  The latest political and economic developments affect local residents only. Debit cards and credit cards issued abroad will not be subject to the €60 limit for withdrawals."

However, I feel that there may be problems in using credit/debit cards and you should pay for as much of your holiday in advance as possible.  Carry cash carefully and use the hotel/apartment safe.
