The Carlingford to Omeath Pathway has been talked about for the past two years in the Cooley Penisula. Recently signs that it would be ready soon began appearing.
Glimpses from the road and Greer's Quay showed the path appearing on the old Dundalk to Newry railway line.
I finally figured out where it begins, by the Yacht Club on the photo above,  there's a green fence that skirts the boatyard, as the entrance.

Fairy houses and trails appearing in Irish woods.

Fairy fever is breaking out with news that fairy houses and trails have become visible in woods all over Ireland.  I can confirm it is true as I have seen it with my own eyes.  A few weeks ago I was on holidays in south Kerry with friends and we visited the former home of Daniel O’Connell in Derrynane.  It has only recently reopened after refurbishment.

We went for a walk in the woods and just as I turned back to call to my friends, I spotted a fairy house.  Low down on a tree trunk there was a little opening and inside I could see a table and chairs.  We knew then that this was indeed a magical wood.

It was evening time as we walked around and slowly be surely our eyes adjusted to the light and one by one they revealed themselves to us.  There was even a fairy house in the likeness of the deserted round Summer House where Daniel himself must have played.

Whoops of fun erupted as we five adults, rushed around trying to find more and more houses.  We also walked the Ring Fort, made a wish and ate blackberries, and more little treasures appeared.  If you go down to Derrynane Woods be sure to be a believer, you never know what you might see.

A story from the Irish Examiner (25/09/2014) about a company that will make you a genuine fairy door, but you have to find your own fairy.
