Accommodation finding –
Use website like Hotels.com. Booking.com is good for apartments too
Major hotel groups have sales, like Barcelo, Melia, Accor, Ibis, Iberostar
Airbnb.com is a way to find good value from home owners – either staying with the owners, or rent their space.
Homeaway.com, VRBO.com in US is good. Rentalia.com for Spain and Italy
What about Travel Agents
Since Tunisia there are more people taking up available holidays in the market,
Turkey has more options this year so check out Sunway.ie and Falconholdiays.ie
Online travel agents are a good bet, because you are not limited to Saturday – Saturday
They tend to have good deals on hotels and apartments.
Cassidytravel.ie, Steintravel, Dawsontravel.ie Travelcheaper.ie, Travelfox.ie, Lowcostholidays.ie, clickandgo.com. I have seen deals with these agents for September and October for 200-300 for a week.
Holidaysonline.ie has Morocco, Greece, Turkey, Algarve, for under 500 for a week
What about Greece
If you have booked you can’t cancel just because the banks aren’t open. Take cash. Insurance companies have increased the amount of cash covered. Life goes on in the Greek islands
